# 41. Cherie Pyne: Little Springboard

This is a record I purchased in my hazy days of playing in the St. John’s music scene and thought it was well worth revisiting as I remember having loved it at one point, but completely forgot about it until now. Upon re-listening to it completely sober and with fresh and invigorated ears, I believe i love it even more. Cherie does a 90’s grungy pop extremely well with delicate, wavering vocals and loud and raucous guitar work. Sometimes reminiscent of The Smashing Pumpkins or PJ Harvey, delay-soaked guitar will come in and a song will feel as spacey and jammy as a Built To Spill song. I’ve lost touch with what she may be up to these days, but after spending some nostalgic alone time with this album, I am eager to hear more. Highly recommended.
