Back to RPM’s. “Red Milk” is yet another album from the amazing trio, am/fm dreams. I believe this is their 12th or 13th record and they have been consistently putting out an amazing RPM album a year, for the past 6 years or so. Their influences range from Blind Melon to Tom Waits, among others and you can here those influences ring true as they deliver songs with a wide range of instruments and arrangements, spanning genres and just being inventive. They can have folky waltzes followed by grunge tinged rockers or sparse, near a capella tunes. I think Red Milk may be my favourite am/fm dreams album to date. From the beautiful opener, “We Get Old” to the catchy “El Matador” and the bluesey “Crows,” there’s something here for everyone. I look forward to years and years of am/fm dreams albums to come. For now, I shall let Red Milk happily accompany me out of the last weeks of Winter. You should too. Get it for free here.
