# 105. Harry Nilsson: The Point

I was delighted when friends of mine lent me a bag of records for this blog of mine, and amongst them was “The Point.”  I was immediately reminded of an animated cartoon I watched as a youngster, particularly the part of the cartoon featuring “Me and My Arrow.”  Needless to say I was delighted to dig into this bizarre concept album telling the Fable of a boy named Oblio, the only person without a point living in the Pointed Village. For more information , read here.

The songs are as eclectic as the concept and are comparable to the Beatles pop fare like “Yellow Submarine” and “Octopus’ Garden.”  The songs are a good bit better than Octopus’ Garden however, and I found myself having them lodged in my head. For fans of Nilsson, or trippy, narrated, concept/fable albums, give The Point a listen.
