# 123. Bob Dylan and The Band: The Basement Tapes (CD 2)

With Levon Helm’s tragic passing this past week, I’ve been listening to the man do his thing and celebrating one of the finest musicians to grace the stage. Both as a drummer and vocalist, Levon was unparalleled.  Just watch The Last Waltz and tell me you’re not moved by his delivery on “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” or “The Weight.”  Further still, check out this video of Levon belting er’ out well into his 60’s and having recovered from throat surgery.  The man was amazing. So, having listened to just about everything Levon was part of, The Basement Tapes was still mostly new to me and holds a couple of Levon gems that are friggin’ sweet.
